METHODOLOGY

DESIGNED TO RELIEVE PAIN OF SPINAL ORIGIN

The O'Connor Technique (tm) is based upon the understanding that the overwheming majority of spinal pain originates from bio-mechanical problems in which the spine' s intervertebral disc material has been physically displaced. The O'Connor Technique (tm) employs a unique method in which back pain sufferers, themselves, can easily identify the nature of their problem, relocate the displaced disc material, and prevent it from dislocating again. By performing simple, specific, sequential, non-painful, postural, movements of the body (maneuvers), the readers can usually instantly relieve spinal pain far more effectively without exercises, than any other physical therapy, osteopathic, medical, or Chiropractic modality; and, in effect, become their own "Chiropractor," typically more effectively and with better results.

Although designed for use by individuals without any formal training in the medical arts, The O'Connor Technique (tm) can be employed by Physicians, Physical Therapists, Massage Therapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, or (most of all) the lay person of average intelligence to relieve the majority of spinal pain.

No other existing back pain therapy, backache therapy, or neck pain therapy offered by the medical establishment, or available to the public through any media, approaches the successfulness of The O'Connor Technique (tm) in its ability to not only address immediate, acute back pain or chronic backache; but, over the life of the individual, it teaches how the painful biological process of degenerative disc disease (previously held to be a relentless process) can be delayed, avoided, or prevented from advancing at the rate it otherwise might.

There is every reason to believe that, if put into wide-spread practice, The O'Connor Technique (tm) has the potential to revolutionize the contemporary management of spinal pain. By arriving at both a novel understanding of spinal bio-mechanics and the development of a mechanism to physically alter them, most back pain can be successfully managed earlier and better than ever before. Prior to the onset of irrevocable damage, the deleterious consequences of neglecting spinal bio-mechanical principles can be prevented, human movements can be directed to rectify anatomical discrepancies, and the environment can be altered to accommodate spinal anatomy rather than the inverse.

Even though the formal evidence is not yet accumulated to fully prove the claim, there is every reason to believe that practicing The O'Connor Technique (tm) regularly throughout the ageing process can prevent the crippling effects of kyphosis (the bent-forward posture of old age) and probably the most common type of scoliosis (a side-ways bending of the spine), especially the compensatory type of scoliosis. Finally, by applying the knowledge incorporated into The O'Connor Technique (tm) the individual reader can expect to extract themselves from otherwise contributing to the horrific back pain suffering statistics.
